FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE D.T. Williams

Lies create problems and complications which you cannot control. The leading characters in FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE learn this painful lesson at the expense of their marriage.

This novel follows Lucy and Grant Smith who meet as teens, date while she is in college, get married and start a family. Not an uncommon scenario, but add ambitious career goals and egos and the dynamics of a happy marriage can quickly flip. Lucy and Grant married young for all the wrong reasons and without an understanding of what makes a successful marriage. They didn’t figure it out until their marriage was unraveling under the strain of infidelity and an illegitimate baby.

This novel’s theme is predictable and I approached it with skepticism, but D.C. Williams adds a unique spin that captured my heart. Be prepared for a roller coaster ride of emotions and moments when you hate both Lucy and Grant. Aside from some proofing errors, the story flowed well. The author did a good job of developing the characters and keeping my interest. The unexpected ending ensures Lucy and Grant's story will continue with more twists and turns.
